Modern eco-technologies discussed at the University

As part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz and the implementation of the international project Erasmus+ Jean Monnet №101127488 «Modern Eco-Technologies of Sustainable Development: The Experience of the EU and Kazakhstan»,
a round table discussion was held at the university on the topic:
«Ecological Transformation: From Smart Cities to Industrial Decarbonization The Experience of the EU and Kazakhstan».

The purpose of the event was to bring together the expert community to discuss innovative approaches to transforming urban infrastructure and industrial systems, analyze best practices of the European Union and Kazakhstan in implementing smart technologies, and develop solutions aimed at reducing the carbon burden on the regional economy.

During the round table, participants thoroughly examined key issues of ecological transformation, the Smart City concept, energy management, industrial decarbonization, greenhouse gas emissions monitoring, carbon regulation, as well as low-carbon development strategies.

The discussions addressed specific issues related to power system flexibility, the role of the building sector in achieving decarbonization goals, carbon capital, carbon trading mechanisms, as well as opportunities and risks of implementing eco-technologies in Kazakhstan.

Students demonstrated high engagement by asking insightful and relevant questions, which contributed to lively professional discussions and deeper understanding of current environmental and climate challenges.

Ecological transformation today means a sustainable future tomorrow!
